Target groups
Solution Seekers
Solution seekers are companies, local communities, public administration bodies, and utility companies facing numerous challenges in finding sustainable solutions for the transition to a circular economy. Companies require support in resource optimisation, the implementation of circular business models, and compliance with future environmental regulations. On the other hand, local communities, public authorities, and utility companies face challenges in effective waste management, resource reuse, and the implementation of sustainable projects. SCKG addresses these challenges by providing expert support, access to innovative solutions, and training to ease the transition to a sustainable economy.
Solution Providers
Solution providers include research institutions, innovative companies, laboratories, and demonstration centres that develop and offer advanced solutions for the economy but often struggle to successfully bring them to market. SCKG enables their connection with solution seekers, supports them in testing new technologies, and provides access to new funding sources and business opportunities. The key role of solution providers is the development of innovations that enable more sustainable use of raw materials, greater energy efficiency, and advanced recycling methods.
Supportive Environment
The supportive environment comprises organisations that offer strategic, financial, and operational support to businesses and institutions. These organisations include development agencies, chambers of commerce, consultancy firms, and research institutions, which assist with digitalisation, funding for sustainable projects, and the creation of innovation ecosystems. SCKG enables these institutions to participate in the development of circular business models and gain access to national and European funding sources.
Policy Makers
Policy makers play a crucial role in shaping the legislative and regulatory framework for the circular economy. Ministries, public administration, and both local and national decision-makers require accurate analyses and recommendations to develop effective policies that support the green transition. Their work is often hampered by complex administrative procedures and a lack of expert support. One of SCKG’s key tasks is to provide expert analytical support, consultancy, and the organisation of trainings and workshops, contributing to more effective policy development and the simplification of administrative processes.
Wider Society
The wider society and its various publics are key stakeholders in the adoption of sustainable practices and circular economic models. Consumers generally support the transition to a sustainable and circular economy, but concerns often arise about the financial viability of the green transition, as many fear it may increase their cost of living. At the same time, many resist changes that require adaptation to new technologies or ways of managing the environment. A lack of knowledge often leads to distrust in new technologies, which further complicates the implementation of innovations due to doubts about their effectiveness, safety, and long-term environmental impact. To ensure a successful transition to a circular economy, SCKG advocates for the provision and dissemination of transparent and truthful information, education, and the active involvement of various publics in dialogue about the benefits, risks, and opportunities of sustainable development.
