About the project

What is the Slovenian Centre for Circular Economy?
SCKG connects various stakeholders from business, research institutions, the public sector and civil society and facilitates activities to support policy-making, technology development and knowledge transfer. It was established with the aim of encouraging companies to adopt sustainable business models and to support other stakeholders in the transition to a circular economy and society. It executes this by organising and delivering consultancy, training and workshops for businesses, local communities and awareness-raising activities for citizens. It supports research for the development of environmentally friendly technologies and contributes to the formulation of circular economy policies.
The main activities of SCKG include:
- Establishing physical and virtual entry points in order to provide training, information, advice to SMEs and public institutions.
- Connecting stakeholders through industrial symbiosis, networking and the development of circular value chains.
- Monitoring and analysing trends in the circular economy and supporting innovation.
- Educational and awareness-raising activities for different social groups to promote circular values.
- Support research and development of new technologies and business models.
- Establishment of an online platform with access for all stakeholders, with an advanced knowledge base (library, SCKG academy, toolbox) and a virtual assistant for circular transition.
